This article might be an unusual one, given the fact that I have always been posting about food and recipes in my blog. However, I always wanted to touch base, and post an article on health supplements and its usage. While there is no doubt about the fact that nothing can replace a healthy and nutritious meal or a peaceful 7-8 hours’ sleep or even a balanced and frequent workout. Yet the additional dietary supplements on top of our diet, are inevitable. There are significant advantages of including additional supplements in our diet. Trust me, this is the first-hand experience and I feel comfortable sharing my journey with it. This blog post is dedicated to it and I would like to highlight those.

Vanilla wafers–Make homemade vanilla wafers for this recipe! (A graham cracker crust would also be delicious in this recipe.)
Peanut butter–Creamy works best, but you can also leave this out if you are not a fan of peanut butter.
How to Make Vanilla Pudding
It’s best to start with the homemade pudding first. This will need to chill for about half an hour after it’s made. While the pudding is chilling, you can work on making the other important parts to this recipe.
(Full recipe in a recipe card below) It’s really easy to make your own vanilla pudding. Pudding is a great dessert to have on hand, and most people like the smooth, creamy sweet (and sometimes even savory) treat. Plus, if you make a little extra, it’s nice to have as a snack or loaded with your favorite chocolate candy or treat.
In a large bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
Add the eggs and egg yolk and whisk to combine.
Then, whisk in the milk for about 30 seconds.
Pour the mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. This mixture should thicken in 5-10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat before you add the butter. Add the butter one cube at a time.
Finally, whisk in the vanilla extract. Cover the pudding with plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. (The pudding will not be completely set, but it will set in the final chilling process.) This is the perfect time to start the other recipes.
How to Make the Crust
While the pudding is chilling, prepare the crust. Did you know you can make your own homemade vanilla wafers? I have a homemade vanilla wafer recipe you might want to try for this recipe, or just to have some cookies on hand!
To make the vanilla wafer crust, add the cookies to a food processor and process until you have a fine crumb. You could also use a rolling pin to roll over the cookies that are in sealed plastic baggies to get them into fine crumbs. A hammer also works, but just gentle taps!
In a medium bowl, combine the crushed wafers and melted butter until the mixture is combined. Press the crust in the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan (no need to grease the pan). Chill the crust while you prepare the cream cheese layer.
Cream Cheese Layer
To make the cream cheese layer, simply combine the room temperature cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, and one cup of the whipped topping. If you forgot to take out the cream cheese to get it to room temperature (which usually takes about 30 minutes), unwrap the cream cheese and place it in a microwave-safe container, heating it up in 15-second increments until the edges are softened.
How to Assemble Banana Pudding Dessert
Once all the parts to this dessert have been made, it’s time to get it assembled and chilled so everyone can enjoy it!
Pour the cream cheese mixture into the chilled wafer crust.
Top with a layer of sliced bananas.
Pour the cooled pudding over the bananas.
Cover in plastic wrap and set it in the refrigerator for another 1-2 hours. (Yes, it will be hard to wait, but SO worth it!)
When you are ready to serve, top the dessert with more whipped cream, crushed vanilla wafers, and drizzled melted peanut butter. You could always skip the peanut butter, but it was the perfect complement to the banana dessert!
Store the dessert, covered and chilled, for a couple of days.

Mr. Steak Review
We chose to review the “Big Boy’s Bone-In” box:
2 xBone-In Ribeye – 20oz
1 × Cowboy Steak – 32oz
2 × Bone-In Kansas City Strip – 20oz
2 × T-Bone – 18oz
The packaging is completely recyclable and the lining is biodegradable.
Tonight, we’re cooking the Bone-in Kansas City Strip and the 32oz Cowboy Steak…YES 32 OUNCES!!!
With meat of this quality, all you need is a simple seasoning blend of salt, pepper and a touch of garlic powder. No marinades.
Included in the box is a recipe for the Mr. Steak Magic Sauce, which is butter, garlic, grated parmesan and a little bit of truffle olive oil. I added in some freshly minced herbs from the garden. This is what we’ll use to brush on the steaks to finish.
I also threw on some russet potatoes (I threw the potatoes in the microwave for 5 minutes to give them a head start. Then rubbed olive oil, heavily sprinkled on salt, threw them on the grill for 45 minutes or so).
OH. MY.
Poor Duke. He was so patient, and so good while I took photos.
Superb. Excellent even marbling throughout. So much beefy flavor. Hands down the best steak we’ve had all year long.
Why buy from Mr. Steak?
I can’t remember the last time I stepped foot in a fancy steakhouse. I think it was last December. While I love the experience and ambiance of a high end steakhouse, it’s an expensive affair. Half the time, my boyfriend and I will whisper to each other, “our steaks at home are better than this!”
In addition, with the pandemic, restaurant closures, just the “unknowns” of eating out, we’ve gotten *really* good at grilling steaks at home with our wood pellet grill.
With Mr. Steak, you can get the exact same quality meats as the fancy restaurants. Mr.Steak can send you USDA Prime beef (top 2-3% of all beef) Each steak is hand-selected for marbling, texture, and tenderness before being aged in-house and shipped to your door.

Do I love this luscious and juicy summery salad, which does, in fact, contain quinoa? YES.
If you are a quinoa hater – I think I can get you on board with this salad. I really do.
This gem of a salad is a win for anyone who:
Can appreciate a really good textured salad – I mean, look at all the little bite sizey bits!
Prefers to hang out in the sun instead of spending hours cooking (aka THIS RECIPE IS SO EASY)
Does or does not like quinoa – we accept all
Appreciates a good meatless meal
Goes weak in the knees for big, juicy, summery flavor
The amount of texture and flavor here is staggering. We have quinoa and corn making the base, marinated tomatoes as the juicy crown jewel, avocado to butter things up, shallot, chives, cilantro, lime zest and lime juice to wake you ALL THE WAY up, and Cotija cheese for just the tiniest bit of something creamy / crumbly (just omit if you’re vegan).
Let me just say this: it’s been a long time since I loved a quinoa salad as much as I love this one.
And maybe just a salad in general.
Healthy, but not too healthy. Punchy, textured, and craveable at all hours. Colorful and happy. Exactly how I like to eat.
And if you keep the avocados out until just before serving, it can be a lunches-made-ahead thing that will keep the mood high all the week long.
Quinoa, you win.
Corn, Avocado, and Quinoa Salad with Marinated Tomatoes
Toss cooled quinoa with corn, tomatoes and juice, shallots, herbs, lime juice and zest, olive oil, and salt.
The mixture will hold up pretty well for a few hours in the fridge (or even for a day or two, if you don’t mind that it will look a little less perky). Wait to toss in your avocado and cheese just before serving for optimal freshness, and if it’s been sitting for a while, give it one more salt / oil / lime juice treatment to wake it all up. YUMYUMYUM.

If you’re using regular tomatoes instead of marinated tomatoes, you’ll want to add some fresh grated garlic, salt, and olive oil to compensate for the missing juices!
