Wingstop is one of Americas’ most popular fast-food chain restaurants. They specialize in chicken wings and call themselves the “Wing Experts” and rightly so. They have perfected the art of making chicken wings, not only the wing itself but the best wingstop flavors that go with them.
They serve classic wings, boneless wings or crispy tenders. You can order any type of wing in one of their 11 flavors.
Each flavor has a unique taste and composition and have varying intensities of heat. On their menu, they provide you with a scale of how hot each sauce is.
What Are The Top Wingstop Flavors?
Listed below are the eleven flavors they have available, listed from least to most heat.
Hawaiian
Hawaiian is the sweetest flavor on their menu. This sauce has no spiciness (heat) to it and unlike most sweet sauces, it is perfectly balanced and not at all sickening sweet.
The best way to describe the flavor is to think of orange chicken, but with a lot more citrus and spice. You can easily taste the Asian-inspired spice mix used in this sauce, which makes it even better.
It is a very fruity sauce that has hints of citrus (like we mentioned), pineapple and apple.
Garlic Parmesan
This is a dry rub (not a sauce) from Wing-stop and I must say, it’s worth ruining your breath over.
It is one of the best garlic and cheese combinations I have ever tasted and almost gives the illusion of eating garlic bread. The integrity of the wings also stays intact longer as there is no excessive moisture to make it soggy from any sauces.
It doesn’t have any heat which is perfect if you’re looking for an easy-eating chicken wing.
Lemon Pepper
This is one of the restaurants’ most popular flavors and for a good reason.
It is an extremely concentrated lemon dry rub that is both zesty and tart. This speaks volumes to the quality of their dry rubs as usually, sauces have more concentrated flavors.
It has hints of black pepper which adds just a tiny bit of spice, but not any heat. The acidic flavors pair beautifully with their fatty, crispy chicken wings. Like with the garlic parmesan, the rub keeps the wing crisp. We love Wingstop lemon pepper wings and even have the full recipe on our website.
Hickory Smoked BBQ
Almost every chain restaurant has a BBQ sauce, but Wing-stops’ is my favorite ever. It does have some heat to it, but very manageable.
It is a flavor-packed sauce with a very bold taste that gives you a symphony of sweet and smoky flavors all at once. This BBQ sauce specifically focusses a lot more on the smoky part than other sauces.
Mild
This sauce is a copy of their Original Hot sauce, which we will still discuss, but without the intense burn. It is perfect for anyone who likes a bit of spice but not too much.
It is a basic vinegary hot sauce that ranges in the low-mild heat range.
Louisiana Rub
This is another amazing dry rub from Wing-stop that has hints of garlic and very prominent Cajun spice flavors. These spices are balanced very well and give you a good idea of what “Deep Souths Cajun” flavor means.
This rub hovers in the mild heat category so I would not recommend it to anyone who cannot handle a bit of burn.
Spicy Korean Q
This sauce is a legend at Wing-stop. It is their most complex sauce with regards to its’ flavor profile.
The main components they balanced are the sweetness and spiciness. This is a very hard thing to do in the culinary world, but they did it and they did it extraordinarily well. You pick up a lot of ginger and garlic and the spiciness comes from the Sriracha hot sauce and crushed red peppers.
If you are a hot sauce enthusiast, all the sauces listed further (including Spicy Korean Q) would be flavors to try. They are very hot and it’s quite an experience to try them all in one sitting.
Original Hot
This sauce started it all; the Wing-stop Original Hot sauce. This is the sauce that made them famous and started their sauce revolution.
It is an extremely red sauce that might look intimidating, but once you taste it, you will want to take home a whole bucket.
This is a spicy sauce that will take your breath away, but not so much as to make you tear up. They rate it a 3 out of 5 on their hotness scale.
Cajun
The Cajun flavor is a fusion of the Wing-Stop Original Hot sauce and Louisiana dry rub – that means it has double the heat!
There are tons of incredible Cajun spices that come through before the intense burn starts. And then that is all you taste for quite a while.
Mango Habanero
When taking your first bite of this wing, the first thing you might think is that this is a very sweet and tropical sauce – delicious!
But hold onto your hats, as the habanero heat is right around the corner, waiting to kick in.
This sauce is extremely hot and will make some of you sweat a bit. It is a sauce that you will love or hate. The flavor is very intense and unique and they balanced the sweetness and spice very well.
Atomic
This sauce is the hottest sauce on their menu. Despite its excruciating heat, it is still incredibly tasty. Unlike most hot sauces where you cannot taste any flavors due to the intense burn, they really did master the balance of spice and flavor.
The chicken wings are covered in a coating of crushed peppers, adding even more pure heat to the mix.
The only people who will enjoy this flavor are those who love scorching-hot, tears-running-down-your-face hot sauces.
It is an experience, even though it’s one that few will want to re-live.
Conclusion
Hopefully, this will help you know exactly what you’re in for when trying their wings. Even if you are not the biggest fan of spicy wings, you should consider trying theirs.
If not, then try the flavors from their “no heat” menu as they are just as delicious – you won’t be disappointed!
