Raising Cane’s Dipping Sauce Recipe

If you don’t know what Raising Cane is, it’s An American fast-food chain restaurant that specializes in chicken fingers (it’s literally part of their name).

And as we all know, any restaurant that specializes in chicken fingers automatically specializes in dipping sauces – and theirs’ is probably my favorite ever!

They have a signature “Cane’s sauce” that they describe as a flavorful tangy sauce with a hint of spice and let me tell you, they have it spot on.

So naturally, especially because they aren’t located around every corner in the world, we have to recreate this amazing sauce.

Their sauce basically consists of a bunch of other, very basic, sauces including mayonnaise, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Of course, the restaurants’ recipe will probably contain all sorts of MSG and other preservatives, but that is why making your own is so much more beneficial.

This sauce is very easy to make and can be used not only on chicken and chicken products but on a wide variety of foods.

How To Make Raising Cane’s Dipping Sauce

What I love about making these quick sauces is that you can use different methods to mix depending on the size of the batch.

Firstly, you can make this Raising Cane’s dipping sauce in a mixing bowl by whisking all of the ingredients together.

The other two methods can be used to make very large batches to give as gifts or to sell. You can either use a blender or a food processor.

There are a lot of different blender options that can handle different size batches such as a jug blender or a stick blender.

A food processor can handle very large batches. No matter which method you use, simply add all of the ingredients to the container and whisk or blend until they are evenly incorporated and the mayonnaise are blended until smooth.

Place the sauce into a container and store for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.

Raising Cane’s sauce is incredibly quick and easy to make and you most likely already have all of the ingredients in your cupboard!

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup mayonnaise

    • ½ cup ketchup

    • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

    • ¼ teaspoon salt

    • 1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

    Directions

    • To start, take into consideration the amount of sauce that you need to make. If you are making a small batch, use a mixing bowl to make the sauce.
    • If you are making larger batches, rather use one of these other two mixing methods.
    • For any small batch of Raising Cane’s dipping sauce, use a mixing bowl to make the sauce. Add all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and whisk until the ingredients are evenly incorporated and the mayonnaise has been whisked smooth.
    • To make larger batches, you have two options to make your life much easier.
    • Firstly, you can use a blender to mix all of the ingredients. You can either use a small blender, large jug blender or a stick (hand-held) blender.
    • Simply add all of the ingredients to the blender and blend for 10-30 seconds until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
    • The other method is to use a food processor. Using a food processor is always great if you want to make massive batches that you want to give away as gifts or sell.
    • As with the blender, simply add all of the ingredients to the food processor and mix for 10-30 seconds.
    • Decant the sauce into a container and store in the refrigerator for about 2-3 weeks.

    What To Serve This With

Your first reaction will probably be to serve this dipping sauce with chicken. This does make an amazing accompaniment as it is what the sauce was originally intended for. You can serve it deep-fried crispy chicken, baked chicken fillets or even a whole roasted chicken.

However, this sauce has so much more potential. I love using it as a burger sauce, a salad dressing and a dipping sauce for pretty much any finger food such as potato wedges, sausages or mini pies.

This sauce is definitely versatile and you can even add other spices (or hot sauces) to give it something extra even though it doesn’t need it.

    Tips & Tricks

    • I will always recommend using a thick and quality mayonnaise. Hellman’s or Dukes is the best, but if you have your own preference, this is also fine as long as it’s thick.

The same goes for ketchup; only use good quality ketchup like Heinz.

    • You can easily make this recipe vegan by using a vegan mayonnaise and a vegan ketchup. Most ketchup is vegan, but some do contain traces of animal products. Luckily, Heinz is a vegan ketchup!
    • If you want to challenge yourself, make a homemade mayonnaise. There are tons of recipes out there, each having a very unique flavor. You might not love the first recipe you try, but keep on making them until you find a new family favorite.

Mayonnaise is very easy and quick to make in a blender and is much better as you know what it contains and has much less, if any, chemicals and unhealthy preservatives.

    • As with any cream-based sauces, I would recommend using a glass jar to store the sauce. Sometimes plastic containers have other flavors and stains that could be imparted into your sauce. You could also never use metal to store your sauces. Some metal containers can impart hazardous chemicals and stain your sauce.

    Conclusion

You have to try this sauce at home. It is amazing and so easy to make, it literally takes less than 5 minutes. The even better part is that you most likely already have all the ingredients needed – even if you don’t, they are all very basic ones that can be used in thousands of recipes.

You can use this sauce in many dishes, as a marinade or just as a normal dipping sauce – no matter how you experiment with it, its guaranteed to be delicious.
