Steamy Kitchen Update

Happy December to you! 

How did we get to the final month of 2020 already! It’s been a wild ride of year, and we are in the final stretch. How are you feeling about this last month? 

I hosted Thanksgiving supper with my brother and my parents, who both live a few minutes away from me. We had the BEST turkey ever….smoked turkey on the pellet grill. 

Also, Amanda, Steamy Kitchen’s site manager, enjoyed her first American Thanksgiving (she’s Canadian.) Amanda has been staying with me for the past month, it’s nice to be finally working side-by-side with her instead of just over email and zoom. 

A couple of days ago, I got a nice little surprise package from my friend and fellow mischief-maker, Ree Drummond. Do you watch her show The Pioneer Woman? 

Ree and I have been good friends fo many years. We used to host a massive party once a year – we’ve done San Francisco, NY, Chicago, Austin, and uhhh….I don’t remember the rest. A few years ago, we celebrated my youngest son’s birthday at the PW ranch, where I got to ride….er….I mean !)(#%&!)@(*#! get on a big tall horse for the first time.  

Her sweet care-package was filled with goodies from her store, like a cute pair of earrings, a gorgeous handbag, kitchen towels, a stuffed skunk?!?, ANDDDD…..her brand new book, Frontier Follies, Adventures in Marriage and Motherhood. 

I haven’t had a chance to crack open the book yet – and I have a feeling the stuffed skunk will be explained in the book.  Okay, gotta go…..I’ve got a steak on the grill, and baked potatoes in the air fryer….but please check out Ree’s new book, I’m sure it will be hilarious, real and entertaining, just like Ree!
